6 Week puppy classes to socialise and lay the foundations for a good solid dog training education.

We start of by teaching your dog to respond to its name

'sit' so your pup can wait patiently for their food and you'll understand why we don't teach 'stay' las we think sit means sit until told otherwise! This means you can tell your dog to sit in its bed whilst you open the front door without them jumping all over your visitor.

We teach the importance of a 'release' word so it gives the dog a clear  'end' to the training to make it super easy for them. If they know there's an 'end' with a treat then they're more likely to listen to you

'leave' so they will stop chewing your shoes!

Walking nicely on the lead and recall games will be spread across the 6 weeks

We will also discuss biting, toilet training, how to health check

A typical lesson as follows and we split the session in parts with lots of play as puppies have a short attention span, a typical training session is only 5 minutes at a time for puppies under 6 months! So as you can see we will be trying to cram lots of learning into each session.

The first part of each session stays the same each week (where we do respond to name, sit, stay and down) as we need to keep practising these basics so that we can progress later on and increase the duration of our 'sits' So parts of it will be repetative and you might be fed up doing this by week 3 but by week 6 you will notice your dog much more responsive.

We need a hungry dog to make the training effective and to build up a good training habit.
